Mike here, your Creyos staff scientist, letting you know about a new feature release based on feedback from the Creyos Health community. Starting today, you can instantly create and administer custom assessments directly within your Creyos Health account, giving you the flexibility to quickly assess patients using any combination of the Creyos (formerly Cambridge Brain Sciences) cognitive tasks.

Why does this matter?
The ability to create and administer assessments right away from within your Creyos Health account can help you save significant time and effort. For example, many clinics use Creyos Health to conduct a comprehensive assessment as part of patient intake in order to gain a detailed baseline understanding of a patient's cognitive strengths and weaknesses, prior to creating treatment or intervention plans. On follow-up sessions—and as the patient progresses through their treatment plan—you may then wish to set up quicker custom assessments that focus on the cognitive domains that were shown to be below the normal range. With this feature, you no longer have to re-assess the patient using the same comprehensive assessment, while ensuring treatment efforts are placed on the cognitive domains that require the most focus.
In other rare cases, you may notice that a task score is marked as likely to have been invalid. This could happen if your patient is distracted while completing a task, or if your patient misunderstood the task instructions. In the event that this occurs, you may wish to quickly re-assess the patient specifically on the tasks that were shown to be likely invalid. Using this new feature, you can now do so right away and without any extra hassle.
How does it work?
Administering a custom assessment is quick and simple. To start, begin an assessment as you normally would and make sure a patient is selected. When you click into the assessment drop-down list, you'll notice a new option called "+ Create New Assessment":
Once you've selected the "+ Create New Assessment" option, you'll then be able to choose the tasks you wish to include in your custom assessment:
As you click on task names on the left side of the screen, you'll see the right side populate with the tasks you've chosen. If you want to change the order of the tasks you've selected, simple click, hold and drag the task card to its new location:
When you're satisfied with the tasks you've selected and the order in which they will be administered, click "Continue". On the next screen, you'll review a summary of your custom assessment to ensure all details are accurate. If everything looks as expected, click "Start Assessment", then choose whether you want to administer it in person or via email:
The next time you are selecting an assessment for the same patient, you will notice an additional option in the assessment drop-down that allows you to quickly choose the previous assessment administered for that patient. This will help save time from having to recreate the same custom assessment from scratch every time.
