At the heart of Creyos Health is an unparalleled commitment to scientific-validity and rigorous research. Explore the scientific-foundations that underpin our platform and create a superior platform—one that seamlessly integrates the latest advancements in scientific research to provide precise, reliable, and trusted results.
A prominent neuroscientist known for his groundbreaking work in the field of neuroimaging and cognitive neuroscience, Prof. Adrian Owen, PhD, OBE, FRSC, FCAHS, originated the digitized tasks that would become core to the Creyos Health platform.
A recipient of various prestigious academic positions, Prof. Owen has made significant contributions to our understanding of the brain and its complex functions, with numerous studies and more than 400 peer-reviewed publications.

Pioneering new techniques that combine neuroimaging with neuropsychological studies, Prof. Owen continues to push for innovation to help the science and medical community better understand the human brain.
Thirty years ago, he developed the tasks that would become the Creyos platform with the belief that there had to be a better way to conduct cognitive testing. A way that didn’t rely on antiquated pen and paper, in-lab-only formats and could instantly return, objective, reliable results.
When it comes to brain health, the compass of objectivity not only charts our progress but also illuminates the path to understanding. In both clinical and academic settings, relying on measurement-based evaluation needs to be the North Star that guides us. Objectivity is not just a tool; it is the cornerstone that fortifies the bridge between theory and practice – that’s why I created the tasks that would today become the foundation for the Creyos Health platform.
Prof. Owen’s cognitive testing research and the Creyos tasks have been used extensively to make discoveries about disorders that affect the brain, such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, depression, autism, and ADHD. His studies of healthy people have also revealed how cognition changes over the lifespan, and in response to lifestyle choices such as musical training, sleep, eating habits and exercise.
Today, Prof. Owen guides the science behind Creyos Health as the company’s Chief Scientific Officer. His lab at the University of Western Ontario also continues to perform groundbreaking research, much of which uses, and contributes to, Creyos.
Working closely with the Creyos in-house team of brain scientists, Mike Battista and Conor Wild, Dr. Owen ensures that every task, assessment, and protocol is scientifically-validated and reliable.
