New: Grant Practitioner Accounts Admin-Level Permissions

If you're part of a multi-practitioner practice, you've likely noticed that creating individual practitioner accounts in Creyos Health does not allow those practitioners to view or access all patients in the account. As a result, you may have avoided creating individual practitioner accounts in favour of sharing a single set of credentials among multiple practitioners.

Starting today, you can give an existing or new practitioner admin-level permissions, providing you with the flexibility to grant Creyos Health access to your staff the way you want, without sacrificing security, or other features and functionality.

Read on for why this matters and how it works. If you have any questions or want a quick 10-minute demo, simply contact us and our customer success team will be happy to assist.

What is an admin account?

Accounts with admin permissions have global access to patients, protocols, schedules, and the ability to update other accounts’ permission levels.

Why does this matter?

There are many times when you may have found creating a practitioner account to be insufficient for your needs—for instance, maybe you have front-desk staff who require full access to your Creyos Health account in order to administer assessments, download reports, and upload them to the patient chart in your EMR or EHR. Or, perhaps you have a practice where the same patient needs to be seen or assessed by multiple practitioners.

Instead of sharing a single set of credentials, you can now grant any individual in your practice full admin access. With separate accounts for every practitioner, users will also realize the following benefits:

  • Notifications: practitioner accounts receive an email notifying them when an assessment that they administered has been completed—with an account for every practitioner, these notifications will be segregated by practitioner account, allowing for better tracking.
  • Security: no shared accounts—every practitioner will have an account associated to their own email and can now utilize multi-factor authentication for added security.
  • Minimized admin burden: in the case that a password needs to be reset, every practitioner can handle this on their own and set their own password.

How do I grant a practitioner admin-level access?

Enabling admin-level access to individual practitioner accounts is fast and easy—simply visit the "Practitioners" tab in your Creyos Health admin account. Then, click on an existing practitioner, or create a new one. You'll then notice a new "Permissions" section as shown below:

Simply select the "Administrator" option, hit save, and you're done. The practitioner you've selected will now be able to see all patients in the account, saving you from the hassle of sharing a single set of credentials among multiple individuals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a new practitioner account?
Once you have logged into the platform, click onto the Practitioner tab on the navigation menu. Next, click the “Create New Practitioner” button and enter in the appropriate details.

How do I grant or revoke a practitioner account admin access?
When creating a new practitioner, you will see an option to select their permission level as “Administrator” or “Practitioner”. Select Administrator. If you want to grant an existing practitioner account admin access, on the practitioner landing page, click to view the practitioner’s details, then click “Edit”. You should now be able to select “Administrator” permissions for that account.

Is there a limit to how many practitioners can be created?
No, every practitioner can and should be using their own account.

Is there a limit to how many practitioners can be granted admin access?
No, you can grant every practitioner admin access if desired.

Can a practitioner that was granted admin access affect any practitioner’s admin access?
Yes, any account with admin access (original admin or another practitioner granted admin access) can grant or revoke admin access to any practitioner account other than the original admin account.

Can the original admin have their admin access changed?
No, the original admin account will always have admin access.

When are protocols available to be used by all practitioners?
The permission level of the practitioner at the moment of protocol creation dictates if that protocol is globally useable. Any protocols created by an account with admin access are available to be used by every practitioner. Protocols are not affected if admin permissions are later revoked or added to an account—only admin permissions at the time of creation affect who can use the protocol.
